About A Levels

Eton Academy's AS and A Level schooling is for students aged 16 to 18 and is designed to cover Years 12 – 13 of the British National Curriculum (Key Stages 4).

A Levels take place over two years and are sometimes refered to as college in the UK.

Eton Academy uses the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) syllabus for A Levels.

Students are required to take 4 subjects in their first year and then 'drop' a subject so they take 3 in their second year. For the 'dropped' subject students will recieve an AS Level.

Completion of A Levels allow for students to progress to university.

A Levels are available as self-study only.

Subjects

A Levels are split into two predefined pathways with 4 subjects each for students to choose from, however subjects can be mixed if students would prefer a different combination of subjects. After the first year students will choose three of these subjects to continue studying.

Examinations

Students do not sit their examinations as part of their Eton Academy schooling. Instead, Eton Academy fully prepares them for the exams through subject lessons.

Students must sit their examinations at an official examination centre local to them. Eton Academy will guide students in registering for these.

Eton Academy will provide information about examinations as soon as the application processes for them are open. We will help parents and students find their nearest examination centre. As part of the application process for sitting examinations, you will be required to pay a fee to the exam board.
