About IGCSEs
Eton Academy's IGCSE schooling is for students aged 14 to 16 and is designed to cover Years 10 – 11 of the British National Curriculum (Key Stages 4).
IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is an English language examination level equivalent to GCSE, the standard qualification for 14 to 16 year-olds in the UK.
Students are required to take multiple IGCSE qualifications simultaneously in a variety of core and optional subjects.
Completion of IGCSEs allow for students to progress to AS Levels and A Levels.

What is included?
Students at Eton Academy benefit from a range of quality features and resources that are designed to support learners with their education.
Live Online Lessons
All of our classes are taught live through online lessons via zoom. This gives students the chance to engage in their lessons as they would in a traditional school. They can interact with their peers and teachers, ask questions if they need help and answer questions put forward by their teachers.
Expert Teachers
All of our teachers are experienced in online schooling and will provide the best online education students can hope for. They are passionate about teaching as well as inspiring students and helping them to achieve.
Learning Management System
Students and their parents will have access to our state of the art Learning Managemnt System where they can find digital resources and access all of the subject guides and school information they need to complete their studies.
Resources
Students will be provided with interactive ebooks (via Boost) to support their learning. These books can be personalised with notes, bookmarks, highlights and revision cards.
Pastoral Care
All school years are offered a weekly pastoral care meeting (PSHE) to ensure they are being supported to the best of our abilities.
Report Cards
Report cards are given out at the end of every term and at the end of the academic year, resulting in 4 report cards a year so students and their parents can keep up to date with their progress.
Extra Curricular Activities
We offer a range of exciting extracurricular opportunities for students to discover interests outside of their lessons. View our extra curricular activities here.
Flexible Schooling Options
Students have the options to enrol as a full time student, an ‘occasional student’ or a 'self study' student.
Why choose Online Study
Online study can be a means of making the most out of school-aged education for many learners. Students can access world-class programmes no matter where they live and can learn on a basis that meets their needs and schedules.
Despite not being in the physical presence of their teachers and fellow learners, students are in close contact with them. Learning is interactive and invites active student engagement, and teachers and staff are on hand for any support and guidance each student needs. Lessons will be in the form of live online sessions with a small class of students, allowing everyone to get to know each other and make friends.

Examinations
Students do not sit their examinations as part of their Eton Academy schooling. Instead, Eton Academy fully prepares them for the exams through subject lessons.
Students must sit their examinations at an official examination centre local to them. Eton Academy will guide students in registering for these.
Eton Academy will provide information about examinations as soon as the application processes for them are open. We will help parents and students find their nearest examination centre. As part of the application process for sitting examinations, you will be required to pay a fee to the exam board.
