Safeguarding Awareness Week 2025

This week from Monday 19th May to Sunday 25th May is Safeguarding Awareness Week! This year’s theme is 'Empowering and Protecting Students in a Digital World' which couldn’t be closer to our hearts as an online school.

At Eton Academy, safeguarding is one of our top priorities, especially in terms of online safeguarding. To celebrate this year's Safeguarding Awareness Week we have created two posters for our Primary students and Secondary students with tips on how to stay safe online. We have also included an outline of what will happen next if a student reports a safeguarding issue.

What will happen next if I tell someone?

It can feel scary to tell a teacher or trusted adult about something that has made you feel uncomfortable, upset or scared but it's very brave of you and we are here to help. You have a right to be safe.

If you talk to an adult at Eton Academy, the following things will happen:

  • Anything you tell us will always be taken seriously.

  • We will listen to you carefully.

  • We might ask you to tell us more about what’s happening or explain in more detail.

  • Sometimes, we might have to tell the headteacher or the grown-up in charge of keeping children safe.

  • We will support you.

  • We’ll do everything in our power to keep you safe

To support the safeguarding of our students, we also have lessons focused on online safety in our Digital Literacy classes. Students can access more online safety tips and rescources on our Student Hub and we have a dedicated E-Safety page for parents which can be accessed at any time from our Parent Hub.

You can find more information about safeguarding at Eton Academy on our Safeguarding page, where you can also report any safeguarding concerns you have. You can also report any safeguarding concerns here.
